CAREER
Be An Instapreneur
By Dan Miller
48days.com
CBN.com – In a lunch meeting this week a gentleman asked me if I ever feel like I’m lacking for ideas. I thought about it, but then told him that I didn’t allow myself to get in that situation. As I read books and magazines, attend workshops, scan the Internet, and talk to hundreds of people, I have a constant volcano of new ideas I’d love to develop.
There is no shortage of great ideas that can be developed for enjoyable income. The first article below provides some resources that anyone can use. If you seriously want change, more time freedom, more income, and more fulfillment, there really are few obstacles in front of you.
Here are some quotations to get you started – then enjoy the process!
“Self-confidence is the result of a successfully survived risk.” —Jack Gibb
“Action conquers fear.” —Peter N. Zarlenga
“If you wait until the wind and the weather are just right, you will never plant anything and never harvest anything.” —Ecclesiastes 11:4
“Don’t wait. The time will never be just right.” —Napoleon Hill
Need resources to find your next opportunity?
You Can Be an Entrepreneur
I have always loved the term “entrepreneur” and have considered myself one since I was old enough to say the word. Several years ago I coined the term “Eaglepreneur.” Go ahead, check it out - see where this takes you: Eaglepreneur.
Now I’m seeing other variations, like “Instapreneur.” Here’s the deal. In No More Mondays, I talk about the many ways you can be in business today with no start-up capital, no inventory, no employees, no warehouses, no minimum orders, no sign permits, no leases and no long-term commitment. Just jump on an idea and start shipping products this afternoon.
If you want to:
- Write books
- Design your own T-shirts, posters, mugs, or bumper stickers
- Create your own clothing line
- Develop your own furniture designs
You can do any of these with no start-up capital, no employees, and no inventory. Don’t try to use the excuses that you don’t have the money – or time. With the tools that are readily
available to you, there is really no excuse for not turning your ideas into enjoyable income. The only excuse that will stand is “I thought about it but never did anything.” That one I’ll accept; but it’s nothing to be proud of.
I’ve created a series of links for you to start immediately. You can be an Instapreneur.
Hire Me, Please
I have had several people send me the video in this link, so I guess I need to pass it along. It may make you angry, but frankly I found it to be hilarious, as well as extremely well done. Feel free to leave your comments after you’ve watched the three-minute video.
It’s been several years now that I’ve been hammering the message that the workplace is changing. And I keep running into people who are alarmed that things are not the way they used to be. Just yesterday on a radio interview I had a caller who was distraught that he was losing his job after 27 years with the same company. But it should not have come as a surprise - read on.

Each week I create a new online radio podcast that you can hear on Dan’s Online Radio Show.
Here are some of the questions addressed in the current podcast:
1. Hi Dan, I’m interested in becoming a real estate agent. I love tuning into the house hunter TV show and love to help people. I thought this might be a good fit. How would you suggest getting into this field on a part-time basis without losing my day job income in this slow market? Is this bad timing? Your show is a great encouragement. Thank you.
2. I have been running a part-time long arm quilting machine business out of my home for the past two years. The business is completely self sufficient. Estimates come in at about $17,000 to build a free standing structure to house both quilting and sewing equipment. I made $6,000.00 profit last year from the quilting business and am booked out to July with quilts already this year. I want to dream big and build the building, but reality tells me to be conservative.
3. Dan, I want to register a trademark for a unique slogan for my business. Even though the business is just starting and slow, do you think it is worth the effort? I've searched and no one else has the three-word phrase I'm looking at.
4. Dan, I have identified more than 30 local companies in which I would like to work. I am having a very difficult time finding the names of specific people, in my case the Purchasing/Sourcing VP or Director, so I can send my letters and resumes. I have spent many hours researching on the Internet with little success. I feel stuck. Please help!
5. I am a 49-year-old female and been in the BioTech business for 20 years. I want to spend the second half of my life doing something "I" want to do, something I'm passionate about. BUT I have a family and I am the bread winner and NEED MORE money to live, not less.
6. Dan, I'd like to set up a board of advisors for my small business. How should I find these people, and do I somehow compensate them?
Your questions continue to inspire and motivate me. There really are at least good solutions for most any situation. Even if it’s not a perfect solution, you can move through where you are to a better future – if you create a plan of action. Few people are really trapped or stuck.

Humor: I Am Your Man
The manager of a glass and window company advertised in the paper for experienced glaziers. Since a good glass man is hard to find, he was pleased when a man who called about the job said he had more than 10 years of experience.
"I'm delighted to have someone with your background. Where have you worked as a glazier?" the manager asked.
The man replied, "Dunkin' Donuts."
