        - Little Red Wagon, a new limited release feature film starring Frances O’Connor (Timeline), Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad) and newcomer Chandler Canterbury, couldn’t come at a better time. Extolling the kindness we can and should show others affected by a devastating hurricane reminds moviegoers of the things we all can do to pitch in and help those in the northeast affected by Superstorm Sandy.
Based on true events, Little Red Wagon tells the story of young philanthropist Zach Bonner and the children and families he helped after Hurricane Charley hit Florida in 2004. This family-friendly movie has its moving moments, but the discerning moviegoer may find the story too simplified.
		THE MOVIE IN A MINUTE
After hearing about the homes destroyed by a hurricane, Zach Bonner decides to gather the supplies his family and their neighbors bought in preparation for the storm. Surprised by the response in donations and the need, Zach and his struggling family set out to help homeless children. His giving grows even as he sees the need on an even bigger scale.
THE GOOD AND BAD IN LITTLE RED WAGON
The generosity shown in Little Red Wagon is inspiring. The film asks: what are you doing to help those in need ? God calls us to be his ministers of peace and love on this Earth. We are His hands and feet to the world, just as Zach looked beyond himself we should endeavor to meet needs. Though Little Red Wagon does not touch on faith, its message is clearly biblical.
Filmmaker David Anspaugh, who directed the classics Rudy and Hoosiers, brings to life an incredible true story of one child’s selfless work in caring for homeless children. Little Red Wagon has some great moments of emotive acting that grab your attention. Unfortunately, the film also has its moments of wanting dialogue, which is surprising given Golden Globe-nominated Patrick Sheane Duncan (Mr. Holland’s Opus) wrote it.
Rated PG, Little Red Wagon is safe for most ages. Foul language used in a family yelling match is the only concern for young kids. That said, for those of appropriate age, this film is a great lesson for children, and adults for that matter, to learn.
		IN THE END
All in all, Little Red Wagon is a moving story captured fairly well for families to enjoy for years to come. If you don’t get to see it in theaters, check it out on DVD when it releases in January 2013.
