MOVIE REVIEW
Herbie Fully Loaded
Dr. Tom Snyder
MovieGuide Magazine

Herbie the Love Bug sports a brand new NASCAR look in
Herbie Fully Loaded, one of the most wholesome, fun-friendly
family movie this summer. Starring Lindsay Lohan and Michael Keaton,
Herbie is ready to zoom into the imaginations of children
of all ages.
Miss Lohan plays Maggie Peyton, a college graduate bound for
a sports journalism career in New York City. A third-generation
member of a legendary NASCAR family, Maggie has racing in her
blood. Her overprotective father Ray (Michael Keaton), however,
has forbidden her to do any racing.
One day, Maggie rescues Herbie from an angry junkyard owner.
Her father figures Maggie’s not going to do any racing in
an old 1963 Volkswagen, but he doesn’t know Herbie like
we know Herbie. Maggie is soon trading racing challenges with
conceited NASCAR champion Trip Murphy, played by Matt Dillon.
Maggie learns that Herbie has plenty of charms to help her shift
the course of her life, not to mention the sagging racing fortunes
of her famous family.
Herbie
Fully Loaded is good family entertainment. It’s got
plenty of laughs under the hood to keep its pistons pumping. The
race car scenes are exciting and had the audience cheering at
the preview Movieguide® attended. Michael Keaton
warmly plays a real-life NASCAR dad and Lindsay Lohan retains
her crown as the Most Delightful Princess of the family movie
genre. Despite a few light exclamatory profanities and some lying,
the movie teaches positive values. It will be loads of fun for
parents and children to see Herbie in action once more.
