From the label that has broken several best-selling new artists,
including BarlowGirl, Big Daddy Weave, and By The Tree, comes
Houston-based band Inhabited. The female-fronted rock group will
launch its label debut on Fervent Records in July.
Comprising Sara Acker (vocals), Marcus Acker (guitar), Jerrett
Horn (drums), James Colvin (bass), and Justin Tinnel (guitar),
Inhabited recently gained national attention with its independent
project Innerview, which featured the Top 10 Rock and
Top 20 hit “Rescue Me.” Inhabited has also been
in the spotlight opening on various dates for Newsboys, Todd Agnew,
and Mathew West.
Brother-sister duo Marcus and Sara started out leading worship
for their church youth group in 1999. With a heart for missions
and love of music, the twosome began composing their own songs,
playing at festivals, churches, prisons, coffee shops, inner-city
outreaches, and retreats, among other venues. Jerrett, James,
and Justin joined shortly thereafter.
“This signing has long been in the works and well worth
the wait,” comments Susan Riley, owner of Fervent Records.
“This is a band who knows who they are and what their calling
is. We feel very honored to come beside them and aid in their
ministry.”
“Fervent is not only passionate about Inhabited’s
vision, but they have also given us the freedom to write from
our hearts,” says lead vocalist Sara Acker. “They
are equipping us to fulfill the calling God has placed in us,
and we can’t wait to see what He does next.”
Inhabited’s first national release, The Revolution,
will be produced by industry veteran Monroe Jones (Jackson Browne,
David Crosby, Third Day). The album’s debut radio single
hits airwaves late February. In the meantime, Inhabited will continue
its 150 shows a year in anticipation of the June project.
Inhabited is the newest signing to Franklin, Tenn.-based label
Fervent Records. Founded in 2001 by owner Susan Riley, Fervent
is also home to BarlowGirl, Big Daddy Weave, By The Tree, Exit
East, Andrew Peterson, Palisade, and the best-selling Absolute
series.
