Wishful Thinking? Obama Urges Russia, Turkey to Make Nice

The topic may have been climate change, but tensions in the Middle East and Islamic terrorism dominated much of the discussion out of the Paris climate change summit this week.

President Barack Obama called on Turkey and Russia to de-escalate tensions and focus on the fight against ISIS.

"The United States supports Turkey's right to defend itself and its airspace and its territory," Obama said. "We discussed how Turkey and Russia can work together to de-escalate tensions and find a diplomatic path to resolve this issue."
